"As a fast growing retailer we need a fast moving firm of solicitors who will give sound commercial advice and then act on it. DWF fit the bill perfectly."

Retail & Leisure Sector Expertise
The strengths of the Retail and Leisure sector are its quality, vibrancy and resilience.
Changing economic conditions create their own challenges. Heavy discounting abounds, energy costs increase, whilst the demands placed on the Retail and Leisure sector by the consumer and regulatory authorities alike grow.
At times like these companies look to their performance and consider positive change. Old strategies are reviewed and new ones considered. Tough decisions may be needed to retain shareholder value. Product and service lines may change.
Many in the sector continue to flourish despite the headlines. Indeed some of our clients are expanding to take advantage of the opportunities which the current market presents.
Whatever your needs, to help you reach the best decisions from the outset of your deliberations, you will need legal advisers who:
- demonstrate knowledge about the Retail and Leisure sector and its issues
- are committed to working alongside you to achieve your aims
- add real value by helping you understand risks and convert challenges into opportunities and, ultimately, profit.
Our experienced, skilled and energetic Retail and Leisure team are on hand to help you. If you would like an initial conversation with us - free of charge - to talk about your needs, please feel free to call me on 0113 261 6077 or email me at .
If we can help Iceland, is there something we can do for you?
About our Retail and Leisure Team
For over 30 years DWF has built up broad experience of working with clients in the Retail and Leisure industries. To provide clients with access to that knowledge and help them find solutions to their own queries we formed DWF's Retail and Leisure Sector Group.
We work with clients to get to know their business. We are prepared to ask difficult questions of clients to help us gain that understanding. As a result we help deliver collaborative, sector specific and relevant solutions with our clients.
We share the same project objectives as our clients – to maximise profit and smooth the path of management. DWF works closely with a number of retail and leisure clients on a range of topics including competition law, IT outsourcing, intellectual property issues, landlord and tenant matters, HR and pension concerns, trading law (such as retail promotions and advertising practice), licensing, product safety, health and safety, the environment, drafting contracts, resolving disputes, insolvency, debt collection and much more.
We listen, learn and adapt to client needs. As a result we have developed a number of products and services for Retail and Leisure clients which they tell us they want. This includes alternative pricing structures (not just hourly rates), a fixed price injunction to keep people away from premises and more besides.
