Facilities Management

Why should I bother?

Facilities management (FM) goes to the heart of any business be it large, small, public or private. It is concerned with ensuring that a business's most basic needs (buildings, office space, furniture, lighting, air conditioning etc) are supported, maintained and managed on a daily basis in the best, most cost-effective and efficient way possible.

Nowadays the sky is the limit and FM teams often manage a broad spectrum of areas from building maintenance and day-to-day office management (print and post room facilities, health and safety) to IT systems, energy centres and car parks.

FM can be an attractive and effective way to reduce costs as well as help in delivering a business's strategic and operational objectives, promoting harmonisation across different offices and buildings and providing a safe and efficient working environment.

FM can also mean transferring assets, property, people and contracts and often involves complex commercial and legal structures. Understanding the risks, developing innovative solutions and making your paperwork watertight is crucial – something you might like some help with.

Helping Hand

In the end, the success of a business’s FM will depend on how much time, effort and resources the business devotes to it. Even when a service provider is appointed the key to good FM is co-operation and the maintenance of a dynamic relationship. Each party needs to be innovative in its approach to FM and any benefit (and conversely any burden) should be shared.

Our multi-disciplinary approach allows us to work closely with you to identify any risks or pitfalls and to deliver a flexible, innovative and cost-effective solution to your FM needs.

A well drafted FM contract is absolutely key to a successful long term relationship. We are experts at defining appropriate service levels and other key metrics. We understand benchmarking, change control and the importance of an agreed exit management strategy. We will ensure that the documentation of your arrangement delivers a practical, effective and flexible blueprint for your relationship.
