Blue Rainbow Apartments takes first step on road to build hotel chain

Law firm DWF advised apartment hotel operator Blue Rainbow Apartments Limited on its acquisition of a site in Edinburgh.
The Manchester-based company has bought the 30-room Royal Garden Apartments which according to travel website Tripadvisor is the fourth highest rated hotel in the city. It is planning to invest £500,000 in the hotel.
Blue Rainbow Apartments is a UK leader in providing high quality, flexible accommodation for both business and leisure travellers. Its Blue Rainbow Aparthotel in Manchester is situated in its own nine-floor, 80 apartment building in the Deansgate area close to the company’s head office and has a 45-strong dedicated team.
Blue Rainbow Apartments is owned by Will Hannah and Jason Abbott who between them have over 30 years experience in the hotel industry. Will Hannah, managing director, said: “Every day we are presented with potential hotel sites for purchase. We have been eager to expand for a while and out of all the properties, this has been the most attractive by far. Edinburgh is an exciting and vibrant city and we are delighted that Blue Rainbow Apartments can be a part of it.”
DWF led the transaction, providing corporate, commercial and employment law advice. The DWF team included corporate partner Peter Allen, corporate solicitor Vicky Barker and employment associate Gareth Roberts. DWF liaised with Howard Beach of Glasgow law firm Leslie Wolfson & Co who advised on the Scottish property aspects of the transaction.
