We are a business law firm with a distinctive approach, providing a comprehensive range of legal services to corporate bodies, public sector institutions and private individuals. We have over 1400 members of staff across our offices in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Preston.
Our company mission is to deliver straightforward practical advice which cuts through to the results our clients need; keeping things simple and telling it like it is. We do this by deploying experts in the recruitment field who know the legal terrain intimately. We are attentive listeners and problem solvers, able to anticipate obstacles and help our clients plot a true course for their business.
We are experienced in advising on the full range of employment matters that affect the recruitment sector including TUPE, restructures, discrimination, unfair dismissal, contractual documentation, compromise agreements and more recently social media claims involving networking sites. We have particular expertise in employment status, 'IR35', agency workers, The Agency Worker Regulations, The Conduct Regulations, contracts for services and consultancy agreements, master vendor and neutral vendor arrangements. We advise a wide range of clients including neutral vendors, employment agencies/businesses and umbrella companies.
Our legal teams are arranged under seven core Practice Groups, providing a broad range of expertise which enable us to meet the varied needs of our clients. These Practice Groups are Commercial & Corporate Law, Banking & Finance, Litigation, Real Estate, Insurance, Employment & Pensions and Private Client.
Our success in implementing our values through our service delivery is reflected by our performance in the Legal Week Client Satisfaction Survey 2010 where we were ranked third among national firms in the UK. We received particular recognition for the quality of our legal advice, cost and billing practices and our partnership approach to client relationships.
We were named ‘National Law Firm of the Year’ at the 2011 Legal Business Awards. We received praise from Legal Business for our ‘hugely impressive performance over the past five years by becoming one of the highest climbing firms in the Legal Business 100 in 2010, shooting its way into the top 50 UK firms’.
