Following the completion, in November 2011, of a deal to secure a €1.1billion credit facility for the Q-Park Group, leading business law firm, DWF, has assisted the company in obtaining a 10 year lease on the St John’s Centre car park in Leeds.

The Holland-based Q-Park Group, which has its UK headquarters in Leeds, owns, operates and manages car parking facilities across ten European countries, and this new addition is the latest step in its international investment plans.

DWF has acted on behalf of Q-Park for a number of years, and earlier in 2011 assisted the company in securing the takeover of 14 car parks in central London. Q-Park’s plans for its latest acquisition look set to vastly improve facilities and value for users of the car park and include the introduction of a revised lower parking tariff, which has been welcomed by retailers

Nic Crocker, national head of real estate at DWF, said: “We’ve been working with Q-Park for over a decade on a wide variety of agreements and transactions. The new lease of the St John’s Centre car park is the most recent in their expansion plans.”

Adam Bidder, managing director of Q-Park Great Britain, commented: “This new addition to our Leeds city centre portfolio will help us to better service those who are working in the city centre and also those who have come to enjoy the shopping facilities. We have a strong working relationship with DWF, and its continued support is integral to our investment plans.”
